2002 Toyota MR2 Spyder

The car with no clutch but with gears that could only be changed using an optional
pair of steering wheel buttons is the added technological advancement for 2002
Toyota MR2 Spyder. Its 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine is adapted from Celica sport
coupe which can produce 138 horsepower with five-speed manual transmission. Standard
features include 15-inch tilt-steering alloy wheels, power mirrors and locks,
air-conditioning, all-disc anti-lock braking and a CD/cassette entertainment system.
Optional are wheel locks, front-end mask and a tonneau cover. Folding soft top
with a glass rear window and defroster provision are its convertible features.
For safety and security, it comes with four-wheel discs and four-wheel anti-lock
brakes for smooth control especially on sudden stops or slippery surfaces. It
also include driver and passenger depowered air bags, side-impact door beams,
three-point seatbelts, head restraints and front and rear crumple zones. With
a limited availability of 5000 cars per year, the car is aimed to compete with
the popular Mazda Miata roadster, BMW Z3-series and Honda's S2000.
