Toyota MR2 Spyder parts & accessory

Parts and accessories of Toyota MR2 Spyder vary for each year. Added changes
and improvements have been done for each car generation. The usual sport look
of MR2 models since 1985 was changed to a convertible type for 2000 MR2 Spyder.
The manual convertible top which has its own unique style can be easily managed.
It features a glass rear window with a defroster for protection against snow and
ice. Space frame with bolt-on fenders is also one of its stand-out parts which
can be customized for racing. Standard equipments include air conditioning, power
windows and door locks, tilt-steering wheel, leather wrapped steering wheel and
shift knob and rear wind deflector.
Its power comes from a 1.8 liter DOHC 16v inlibe-4 engine that produces 138 hp
6400 rpm. Safety devices include dual air bags and seat belt pretension. The traditional
5 speed manual transmission was upgraded to 6 for 2003 Spyder. Gauges, chrome
and metal-look interior trim, fog lights and antennae type are remodeled. Exterior
changes included new headlights and taillights and color-keyed air intakes. Cruise
control is also one of its new parts. 2004 Spyder uses a 1.8-liter 4 cyl sole
engine with traditional 5-speed manual transmission and optional 6-speed Sequential
Manual Transmission (SMT). The computer-controlled SMT is used to eliminate the
clutch pedal.
Aside from the floor-mounted lever, shift buttons can also be used to control
shifting. Standard parts include the traditional leather wrapped steering wheel
and shift knob for a sporty look, A3-in-1 cassette and cd audio system with four
speakers, air conditioning, power windows, door locks and exterior mirrors, keyless
entry and a security system with engine immobilizer. Dual-bulb projector- style
headlights and a combination of cylindrical turn signals with reversing lights
give a bolder look for this car generation.
